Pregnancy Update

Baby Johnsen and I have made it to thirteen weeks and we are both healthy. On Wednesday, I got an ultrasound and as expected, the baby did not want to be seen. The doctor tried to get a profile picture for me and get measurements for her notes, but we were interrupting nap time. I had met David for lunch about an hour before my appointment, so that was bad timing on my part.

This ultrasound was even better than my first one because I got to hear the baby’s heart beat as well as see the baby move. Since it was nap time, the baby kicked and punched me while flipping over on its side. It was funny because I do the exact same thing when I’m sleeping and need a new position to lay in. We weren’t able to see much, but we got to see two little eyes and ten little fingers. The heart beat was going strong and the doctor was happy with how the baby looked and sounded.

So far, this pregnancy hasn’t been too bad. I have terrible heartburn and my migraines have come back. That’s my biggest complaint. My energy levels have dipped a little and my appetite has decreased, but I have plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in the kitchen for me to snack on. I’m at the point where I can’t button my pants anymore, so I am using the tried and true rubber band trick to hold them together. I don’t look pregnant yet, just look super bloated.

David and I are still hunting for good deals on second hand items through sale and free pages to get baby supplies. We have a few big ticket items to get, but there is no rush! This baby won’t be making an appearance until mid summer.

We are so blessed that this pregnancy is going smoothly and we couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to be parents.

God Bless ♡

Congratulations! Such an exciting and blessed time. I won’t forget the first time I heard my baby’s heartbeat or saw her on the ultrasound! Unreal feeling.
